I'm Claire, from Sydney. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport & Exercise Science, among many other Fitness-related certifications. I began in the Fitness Industry as a Gym Supervisor in 1998, expanding to Personal Training and Group Fitness in 1999. During my time in the industry I have developed a passion for helping others to live not only healthier, but happier lives. I am dedicated to creating sessions that are welcoming and inclusive for everybody. My classes are beneficial for the physical body, but are also fun and empowering - inspiring people to feel connected, happier, and live life to the fullest, no matter who they are, or what stage of life they are at. My goal is to improve lives, positively impacting anyone I encounter. Lately, my focus has been on our older population. After working with seniors for many years in exercise and Zumba Gold, I became increasingly aware of a need for yoga programs that were more accessible to my older, less mobile students. Finding no training in Australia for this population, in 2014 I travelled to New York and completed Lakshmi Voelker’s Chair Yoga (LVCY) Teacher Training. It was a life changing decision. Not only did I learn many ways to help her students feel better and improve their quality of life, but I returned feeling inspired - an improved, more compassionate teacher with a wealth of knowledge under my belt. Since then, I have been teaching Chair Yoga classes and workshops, while travelling to New York multiple times to assist and train extensively with Lakshmi. In 2016 I became an Accessible Yoga Ambassador and decided that to share Chair Yoga with more people, I needed qualified teachers in Australia. So, I became and am now successfully established as the LV Chair Yoga Teacher Trainer for the Australia/NZ region. Along with Chair Yoga and seniors classes, I also am qualified and currently teaching Zumba, Zumba Gold, Pilates and Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Yin). I am also a qualified Yoga Therapist and work with clients one to one, or in small groups, using the tools and techniques of yoga to support individuals to move towards healing, and improved health and wellness.
